Immersed in a world of creativity from a young age, Grant hails from Chattanooga, Tennessee, a place where artistic flair ran in the family. Surrounded by artists and illustrators, he embarked on a journey of self-discovery through the vivid strokes of paint and the intricate lines of his work.

At just eighteen, Grant's artistic odyssey took a remarkable turn when he embarked on an apprenticeship with the enigmatic Daud Akhriev. Under Akhriev's masterful guidance, Grant delved deep into the rich tapestry of Russian Tradition, unlocking new dimensions of his craft.

Grant's dedication did not go unnoticed, as The Benwood Foundation bestowed upon him a scholarship that paved the way for a transformative year at the Florence Academy of Art in Italy. This international sojourn infused his work with a European flavor and broadened his artistic horizons.

Upon his return to the picturesque landscapes of Chattanooga, he decided to further his education with a Bachelor of Fine Arts (BFA) degree from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

Seeking new horizons and inspiration, he set sail for England, where his love affair with maritime paintings took root. The stunning coastal vistas and maritime heritage of England breathed life into his canvases.

Today, his journey has come full circle as he finds himself back in his beloved Chattanooga, where his passion for art continues to evolve, leaving an indelible mark on the world of creativity.
