Hallie Heald is a freelance illustrator and stylist living in New York. Originally from Georgia, she grew up an alien in her own part of the country- devoid of both a southern draw and taste for sweet tea. After graduating high school, Heald fled to CA, where she got her degree in fine art. Leading her to where she is today: in New York dressing up models in black and white mod dresses, grungy street clothes, and lacey lingerie. As an illustrator she recently completed her goal of one 12x12" gouache painting a day for 365 days (Sep 1, 2013-14). After an entire year of painting what seemed like everything (spiderman underwear, a sassy portrait of David Lynch, European pipes, an antique fan, and Flintstone vitamins), she realized what she enjoyed most: painting portraits of people with bold expressions, and quirky senses of style. When she is not painting or styling, she is either: designing for a faux leather handbag company (Freedom Of Animals), conducting interviews with models, fine artists, and photographers on her blog, or listening to Selected Shorts podcast.
